Pay It Forward

I’m going to tell you about a movie I saw a couple of weeks ago, that really touched me.
It’s called “Pay It Forward.” You may have heard of it or seen it before.  The whole movie developes around a school assignment in 7th grade which is to come up with an idea to change the world. Of course their teacher, Mr. Simonet, does not expect the kids to actually change the world, but he wants them to start thinking about the world we’re living in.
Like some kids, 12 year old Trevor McKinney believed in the goodness of human nature, like most other kids he was determined to change the world and make it a better place. Unlike most other kids he succeeded.
Trevor is living with his mom since his father started drinking, and leaving his family behind.  Trevors’ mom, Arlene, falls in love with her sons’ teacher, Mr.Simonet, and the three of them make a nice famiy together. After a while, when everything seems to be getting along much better, Trevor is stabbed and killed, in a brave attempt from rescuing his friend from beeing pushed around and beaten up by some bullies from school.
The whole “pay it forward” thing, is a system that will make people help eachother. You would have to do a big favour to three people, but if you have been helped, you have to pay it forward to three other people. This developes pretty fast, and in a couple of weeks, the movement had reached all over Amercia.

The movie was starring:
Haley Joel Osment-Trevor McKinney
Helen Hunt-Arlene(Trevors’  mom)
Kevin Spacey-Mr.Simonet

I could not find a trailer for this movie, but I found some clips set to the song “Calling All Angels”

Seasons Changing

host-vinter.jpg

I took this picture about a month ago on Osbu, Torbudalen. I think this picture represents the transition from fall to winter. You can see the leaves falling off and changing colour. With all the snow on the mountains in the back, you can definitely say that that we’re heading for a colder and darker, but still a very beautiful and fun season.
When I took this, I did not use my own camera, but one of my dad’s, which by the way is obsessed with taking pictures!
I used a Canon EOS 400D with a EF 70-300 IS/135 mm lens.
I’m not sure if it’s got the best quality I’ve seen, but I’m not a professional photographer and neither do I think you guys expect too much for a school assignment, hehe:P
I think I’m spreaking for a lot of people when I say that I’ve been having some trouble with wordpress lately, so I was not able to log in until today.
But anyway, thanks for a cool assignment and I hope you like the picture!

I have always been a big fan of classic rock from the earlier decades, and I don’t really know what this comes from. But I do remember hearing old hits pounding from our stereo when I was younger, songs I would recognize today.
For this assignment I chose a pretty cool song called “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen.
Queen is one of my absolute favourite bands, a British rock band formed in 1970. I did not start listening to them until earlier this year, but now I’m almost obsessed.
One of the main reasons I like them is because of the way they mix different music styles, for example opera-rock and metal. Another great thing is the talented members of the band. Their singer who unfortunately died in 1991, had after my opinion, the greatest voice in rock history, and their guitar player Brian May is concidered the world’s fourth best, right after legends like Jimi Hendrix and Mark Knopfler.
I don’t know what you think about this video, so please comment and give me your opinion!
Enjoy!

For all you rockers out there; the truth is out!
Led Zeppelin will be performing at the London 02 Arena on November 26th. The concert will raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, and many different bands will be playing, but of course the headline act will be when Led Zeppelin is entering the stage.
This is a huge deal for a great number of fans all around the world, and it’s certainly not something you expect to happen again. The band who broke up in 1980, are now back together featuring all the original members; Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and son of their late drummer, Jason Bonham.
It will cost you about 1500 NOK just for the ticket, which after my opinion is extremely expencive! As much as I would like to go, I think my chances of getting there are very limited, especially since I live in Norway! I am happy they’re back, and I’m hoping to see them myself one day in the future.
